Many Agraria fans have fond memories dating back to 1970 of discovering our Taylor Street boutique on Nob Hill…an eclectic mix of antiques, books, and one-of-a-kind gifts; and of course, filled with aromatic Agraria potpourri, candles, incense, sachets, and bath and body products.
As interior designers, Maurice and Stanford believed that “no great house is ever completely decorated until it has its most important decorative accessory—home fragrance.”
Diptyque was founded in 1961 by three friends, all driven and inspired by their creative passions and artistic backgrounds. The three friends opened a boutique on St. Germaine street in Paris and began their business by selling textiles they gathered from their travels around the world. In 1963, the three friends began making candles that were inspired by the memories and scents of their travels.
Today, Diptyque holds true to the 5 signature scents of Baies, Figuier, Tubereuse, Feu de Bois and Ambre but has expanded their scent collection to 36 total fragrances designated by Floral, Fruity, Herbal, Spicy and Woody scents. Each candle takes 3 days to craft by hand, contains 8 to 9 various mineral waxes with 8-12% perfume oil. The Diptyque collection has expanded to also include Face & Body Care, Personal Fragrances and Home Accessories.
NEST Fragrances was founded by Laura Slatkin in 2005, continuing the legendary reputation she and her husband, Harry, earned for developing original and award-winning luxury home fragrance collections with their first luxury home fragrance company, Slatkin & Co., which was sold to Limited Brands, Inc., that same year. Working with the world’s most acclaimed master perfumers, the Slatkins created distinctive and luxurious home fragrances, personal care products and fine fragrances that met the highest standards of fine fragrance quality and excellence.
NEST Fragrances began as a specialized luxury home fragrance manufacturing company focused exclusively on the private label segment of the industry. The company’s client list includes more than 80 world-class luxury brands, including Tory Burch, Jonathan Adler, Calvin Klein, NARS, Jason Wu, West Elm, Laura Mercier, AERIN, and Ralph Lauren – all of which turned to NEST Fragrances to develop their own exclusive lines of luxury home fragrance products.
